Save the boys!

Our blase approach to the effects of plastic (or other man made chemicals) on our lives seems to now have lead us to a very real problem: the possible extinction of the human male leading to the extinction of the race. We need to get our act together!

This is why you should spay/neuter your pets
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x4454291
I have been questioned by so many people about why I spayed/neutered my cats. I always said it was because I didn't want more cats like them on the streets, since both mine were rescued.
This article is both horrifying and painful, but a great reminder why all pets must ALWAYS be fixed.

http://photo-africa.blogspot.com/2008/09/brutal-or-amazing-you-decide.html
Absolutely amazing pictures, that go to disprove my theory that the mothering instinct is essentially a selfish instinct. No don't get me wrong, I absolutely appreciate mothers and everything they do for us. But somewhere deep down, I think we are pre-conditioned to take care of our young because of the need for our genes to survive.
But these photographs of this animal in the wild, have just proven me wrong. As my MIL says, "the world is essentially a good place". On that note, Happy Diwali everyone! This is the one time in the year that I REALLY miss being in India.
